Insider Brief
QED-C has released a Quantum Networking Applications Roadmap outlining the technologies and performance improvements needed for future quantum network applications.
The roadmap evaluates 10 applications across secure communications, networked quantum computing, and distributed sensing, identifying key requirements including quantum repeaters, optical switches, and satellite infrastructure.
The report finds that current quantum network capabilities support only limited point-to-point applications, with further advances needed in transmission distance, fidelity, synchronization, and data rates.
Press release – The Quantum Economic Development Consortium (QED-C) today released a new Quantum Networking Applications Roadmap, identifying the technologies and performance improvements needed to enable quantum networks for commercially valuable applications in secure communications, networked computing, and distributed sensing.
