MANILA, Philippines – Lawyer of the 18 former soldiers or the “Maleta Boys” branded as harassment and a procedural haste the filing of Cybel Libel cases in multiple courts.
Department of Justice (DOJ) Spokesperson Atty. Polo Martinez confirmed that the six counts of cyber libel and four counts of perjury cases were filed Tuesday across four separate jurisdictions: the RTCs of Caloocan City, Las Piñas City, Muntinlupa City, and San Juan City.
These cases are results of preliminary investigations on the complaints filed by Party-list Rep. Leila de Limma, former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr., and Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo M. Año.
