US Soccer is betting big on continuity. The federation has offered head coach Mauricio Pochettino a four-year contract extension that would keep him on the sideline through the 2030 World Cup.
Pochettino, who took the job in September 2024 and earns $6 million annually plus a $2.5 million signing bonus, is already the highest-paid coach in USMNT history. The extension proposal was presented in late June 2026, and as of mid-July, Pochettino indicated he’d deliver his answer the following week. The decision has been deliberately postponed until after the 2026 World Cup wraps up.
