The pair went through a very public and toxic divorce just four years later and have maintained their distance ever since.‌The pair have rarely interacted, though Katie has made jibes at her husband over the years which escalated this year into a podcast rant about Peter trying to cut her out of Princess life. The row resolved when the duo released a joint statement vowing to "create a calm and supporting environment" for their children.‌Their pact to keep apart may be about to change as daughter Princess has devised a plan to reunite them.In a preview for an upcoming episode of her Princess Diaries show she says: "For my official [make-up] launch, I will probably just invite close family and friends."‌Katie replies: "Yeah… I mean, I still haven’t met up with your dad face-to-face yet. It is weird, isn’t it?"Princess tells her "Everything happens for a reason.""Does it?" It might be quite awkward though," she tells him.‌Peter declined to join a string of Katie's exes and appear in her recently released Sky documetary all about her life.
