Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou believes replacing Relebohile Mofokeng will require a collective effort rather than asking one player to fill the void left by the club’s former talisman.
Mofokeng was the heartbeat of Pirates’ remarkable 2025/26 campaign, inspiring the Buccaneers to a domestic treble, including their first Betway Premiership title in 14 years.
The 21-year-old capped off a memorable season by winning the PSL Footballer of the Season award before completing a move to Belgian outfit Royale Union Saint-Gilloise after contributing 11 goals and nine assists across all competitions.
His departure leaves a sizeable creative gap in Pirates’ attack, but Ouaddou insists the answer lies in strengthening the collective rather than finding a direct replacement.
