The DA announced its electoral goals for the November local government elections at a media briefing on Tuesday.

The DA has announced its ambitions regarding the November local government elections including maintaining control of the uMngeni Local Municipality in Howick.

The party snatched the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands municipality from the ANC in the 2021 elections.

In a media briefing on Tuesday, where the provincial leadership welcomed two ANC councillors in the eThekwini Municipality, the party announced that it was seeking to grow its majority in the uMngeni Local Municipality. It also has its sights on other strategic municipalities including the eThekwini Metro.

DA's provincial chairperson Dean Macpherson said retaining uMngeni is the party’s top priority followed by gaining ground in the eThekwini Metro.
