Chief Minister’s Youth Sports Arena was inaugurated at the Virudhunagar District Sports Stadium on Tuesday.Minister for Industries S. Keerthana and Social Welfare Minister K. Jagadeshwari formally inaugurated the new facility set up at a cost of ₹49.70 crore in the presence of Virudhunagar Collector N.O. Sukhaputra, and MLAs P. Selvam (Virudhunagar) and A. Karthik (Srivilliputtur).Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has instructed the officials to establish sports facilities to guide the youths in the right direction and to create a healthy younger generation by encouraging them into sports.The District Sports Stadium has got facilities for swimming, tennis, basketball, volleyball, badminton.Among them the new addition is the Box Cricket arena. The facility would be made available between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.Interested persons can book the timings of their choice through Turf Town mobile application.
