A court here has awarded life imprisonment until death to an 81-year-old man who sexually assaulted a 4-year-old girl.According to prosecution, Ganapathi, 81, of Tirunelveli, sexually assaulted a four-year-old girl on March 16 last. He was arrested by All Women Police, Cheranmahadevi, under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act based on the complaint from the victim’s mother.The Judicial Magistrate of Special Court for POCSO Cases Suresh Kumar awarded Ganapathi imprisonment unto death on Tuesday and imposed a fine of ₹10,000.The Court also directed the State Government to give ₹3 lakh compensation.
