Prosecutors in the Polish city of Wrocław have asked a court to place two men suspected of assaulting a Ukrainian couple in pretrial detention for three months. A third suspect remains at large.
Jakub Dłubacz, Spokesperson for the Wrocław District Prosecutor's Office, said this in a comment to Ukrinform.
"Both detainees have already been questioned and formally charged with assault and committing violence motivated by national hatred. Neither admitted guilt. One provided detailed testimony, while the other refused to make a statement," Dłubacz said.
He noted that prosecutors have filed a motion requesting that both suspects be held in pretrial detention for three months.
According to Dłubacz, the court is required to consider the request within 24 hours. The case will be heard by the Wrocław-Fabryczna District Court.
