Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has requested the Centre to sanction additional works under the VB-G RAM G scheme, considering the impact of El Nino, and to include 10 new livelihood activities to strengthen farmers’ incomes.During a meeting with Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in New Delhi on Tuesday, the Chief Minister sought approval for projects such as vegetable cultivation sheds, fodder plots, mulberry plantations, and silkworm-rearing units. He also proposed initiatives related to farmland development, water conservation, and the restoration of land damaged by natural disasters.Reddy appealed to the Centre to bring Indiramma housing works under the VB-G RAM G scheme. This would enable beneficiaries to receive up to 90 days of employment while accelerating rural housing construction and supporting livelihoods across Telangana, he said. He also requested the allocation of 11.56 lakh houses to Telangana under PMAY-G 2.0. He stated that rural housing had been neglected by the previous government, creating a pressing need for greater central support, according to a release.Published on July 28, 2026
