Police have detained for questioning the owner of a vinegar manufacturing plant near Corinth in southern Greece where an explosion Monday killed a 25-year-old employee and injured a second man.
Investigators are also expected to talk to the shift manager and security officer.
Authorities believe the victim was carrying out welding work near a tank containing propane, from which the highly flammable gas may have leaked and triggered the blast near Examilia.
Fire Service experts are trying to ascertain whether the putative leak predated the welding, or whether the work caused the gas to gradually seep out of the tank and ignite.
The explosion occurred about 13:30 and was heard up to 20 kilometers away from Examilia. Five workers were in the building at the time.
