Former Group CEO of the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa), Lucky Montana, has denied that the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) has obtained an order to freeze his assets.
Former Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) Group CEO Lucky Montana has pushed back against claims by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) that it has frozen two of his luxury properties, arguing that the matter remains at a preliminary legal stage and that no final preservation order has been granted.
The dispute follows an announcement by the SIU that it had secured what it described as a preservation order from the Special Tribunal over two properties linked to Montana as part of its investigation into Prasa's controversial R5.6 billion Integrated Security Access Management System (ISAMS) contracts awarded to Siyangena Technologies.
According to the SIU, the order prevents Montana from selling, transferring, leasing or otherwise dealing with the properties while civil recovery proceedings continue.
