MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said PhilHealth will double its benefit package for children with developmental disabilities and raise the number of covered therapy sessions from 90 to 150.
Marcos announced the expanded coverage in his fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA), where he also cited the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Project Aruga as a source of additional financial assistance for children with disabilities.
“Para mapaganda pa ang suporta natin sa mga batang may Developmental Disabilities, dodoblehin natin ang PhilHealth package para sa pagpapatingin at sa therapy. Dadamihan din natin mula siyamnapu hanggang isandaan at limampu ang bilang ng therapy sessions na sakop ng PhilHealth,” Marcos said.
The increase would add 60 covered therapy sessions to the current 90-session limit.
