MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday called on local government units (LGUs) to help amplify public awareness on various government healthcare programs.

In his speech during the oathtaking of the newly elected national and regional officers of the Provincial Board Members League of the Philippines (PBMLP) at Malacañang, Marcos highlighted the vital role of LGUs in making sure that government programs reach the most remote communities.

“Another example where we need your help in local government is our healthcare system. We are rolling out so many programs, but the problem is that many of our fellow citizens still don’t know that these services exist,” he said, speaking in Filipino.
