OpenAI is planting a much bigger flag in Dublin. The company has designated the Irish capital as its official European Union headquarters, with plans to bring on 250 additional jobs as part of an aggressive expansion across the continent.

From 50 desks to 400-plus

OpenAI first opened its Dublin office in September 2023 as its initial European location. The office had over 50 employees by November 2025 and roughly 60 by February 2026.

The company has been actively searching for 45,000 square feet of office space in Dublin to support a full EMEA hub capable of housing over 400 employees.

OpenAI has invested roughly 105 million euros in Ireland, with a target of creating up to 400 jobs over a three-year period.
