The family of a man identified as Nura Hudu has demanded justice after he was allegedly beaten to death by a group of youths in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, over an alleged ₦80,000 debt arising from a transaction.
According to the family, the incident occurred on July 22, 2026, after a dispute involving a woman identified as Mrs. Winifred Terngu.
The family alleged that the deceased had entered into a transaction worth ₦150,000 and had already paid ₦70,000, leaving an outstanding balance of ₦80,000.
Speaking to SaharaReporters, a family alleged that Mrs. Terngu instructed some youths to assault Hudu over the unpaid balance, resulting in injuries that later claimed his life.
