The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Musbawu Amodu, for the alleged culpable homicide of his 20-year-old wife in Angwan Yahaya, Agyaragu, Obi Local Government Area of the State.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday, 12th July, 2026, at about 12:30 p.m, followed a complaint lodged at the Agyaragu Police Division alleging that the suspect had assaulted his wife, resulting in her death. She is said to have left behind two children, a male and a female, from their six-year-old marriage.
In a press statement issued and signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police Rahman Nansel, said that upon receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer immediately mobilized patrol personnel to the scene, where the victim was evacuated to the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lafia, for medical examination and preservation.
“The suspect was promptly arrested and, during interrogation, allegedly confessed to committing the act,” the statement reads.
