The Bear House expects offline retail to become the primary growth driver as consumers continue to prefer in-store shopping for apparel.

Menswear brand The Bear House is targeting nearly ₹500 crore in revenue in FY27, up from ₹270 crore in the previous fiscal, as it accelerates the expansion of its exclusive brand outlets (EBOs) and deepens its omnichannel presence across India. The Bengaluru-based company, which ended FY26 with 12 per cent EBITDA profitability, plans to shift its business mix from 60 per cent online and 40 per cent offline to a retail-led model over the next few years.“Last year, we closed revenues at about ₹270 crore with 12 per cent EBITDA. We’ve built this business completely profitably. This year, we are targeting to close somewhere close to ₹500 crore,” Harsh Somaiya, co-founder of The Bear House, told businessline. The company currently operates 25 exclusive brand outlets, has over 550 shop-in-shop touchpoints across large-format retailers and multi-brand outlets, and also has two international stores in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It has signed leases for 32 additional stores, with around half expected to open over the next few months.“We have signed another 32 stores, of which about 13-14 are under fit-out. We have already strengthened our presence in metros and Tier-I cities, and are now looking at state capitals and the next best city in each state with a pan-India approach,” Somaiya said.Offline retail in focusThe Bear House expects offline retail to become the primary growth driver as consumers continue to prefer in-store shopping for apparel. “Today we are 60 per cent online and 40 per cent offline. I want to flip the numbers to 60 per cent retail and 40 per cent online because Indian consumers still like to touch and feel products before buying,” he said.Alongside retail expansion, the company is strengthening its omnichannel capabilities. It offers deliveries through its own stores and is present across quick commerce and rapid-delivery platforms offered by marketplaces.“We are an omnipresent brand. All our stores support two-hour, four-hour and eight-hour deliveries. We are also available across quick commerce platforms and rapid-delivery services from marketplaces,” Somaiya said. The company’s offline strategy is also reflected in its higher store productivity. While its online average order value (AOV) stands at ₹1,500-1,600, offline AOV ranges between ₹5,000 and ₹5,500, driven by customers purchasing complete outfits.“Offline is an experience. Customers don’t just buy a shirt—they buy the complete look, and that helps us build a much larger basket size,” Somaiya said.Looking ahead, The Bear House has set an ambitious target of ₹2,000 crore in revenue over the next five years.Published on July 25, 2026
