258 evacuated as Kiyapo-triggered rains swell rivers in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY — At least 258 people from 57 families were displaced in Cagayan after heavy rains spawned by Typhoon Kiyapo (international name: Noul) triggered flooding and heightened the risk of landslides in several northern towns, provincial disaster responsed officials said on Saturday, July 25.

A report from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) showed the evacuees came from 13 barangays in the towns of Allacapan, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Camalaniugan, and Gonzaga.

Of the total, 243 individuals from 54 families are staying in seven evacuation centers, while 15 people from three families have sought temporary shelter with relatives or neighbors.
