CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — Police dismissed claims that the home of an elderly couple was ransacked, saying initial investigations found no signs of foul play or forced entry.
In a telephone interview on Saturday, July 25, Calapan City Police Station chief Lt. Col. Michael Caraggayan said Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) found the couple’s personal belongings, including their cell phones and wallets, untouched inside the house.
“Based on our investigation, the male senior citizen’s body was already in an advanced stage of decomposition, indicating that he may have died several days to a week before he was discovered,” Caraggayan said.
