The aircraft, operated by the Enugu State-owned carrier overshot the runway after landing at about 3:10pm on Thursday.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Enugu State has called for a thorough, transparent and independent investigation into the runway excursion involving an Enugu Air Embraer E170 aircraft at the Benin Airport.
The party said this on Friday in a statement signed by the Enugu State ADC Caretaker Secretary, Comrade Adolphus Ude.
The aircraft, operated by the Enugu State-owned carrier, reportedly overshot the runway after landing at about 3:10pm on Thursday.
Enugu Air had confirmed the incident in a statement posted on its X account, describing it as a "runway excursion" and stating that all 63 passengers and five crew members on board were safe, with no injuries recorded.
