The Premier League’s 2026 summer transfer window has five English clubs occupying the top spots in global transfer spending.
Tottenham Hotspur sits atop the leaderboard with roughly £229.5 million in gross expenditures. Chelsea is right behind at £218.92 million. Manchester City, Newcastle United, and Brighton round out the top five at £149.45 million, £108.75 million, and £107.7 million respectively.
The 2026 summer window opened on June 15 and doesn’t close until September 1 at 11pm BST. Premier League clubs have collectively surpassed £1 billion in total expenditures this window.
Two deals in particular have turned heads. Chelsea dropped £117 million to bring in Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, setting a new record for a British player transfer. Manchester City paid £116 million for Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest. Those two deals alone account for £233 million.
Tottenham’s £229.5 million outlay represents a clear statement of intent from a club that has historically been characterized as prudent spenders.
