Dango, a decentralized exchange built for perpetual contract trading, announced it will shut down operations after concluding there’s no realistic path to lasting commercial viability. Trading on the platform will cease July 29 at 12 pm UTC, with its underlying Layer-1 blockchain going dark entirely on August 13.
The project raised $3.6 million in seed funding back in November 2024, launched its mainnet in early April 2026, and is now winding things down barely three months later.
What happened, and what happens next
“Despite our best effort, various reasons have led us to conclude there is no viable path to a lasting commercial success,” the Dango team posted in its announcement.
The platform processed $239 million in 30-day trading volume and held approximately $1.77 million in total value locked at the time of the shutdown announcement.
