A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State, Ibraheem Adekunle, has warned against attempt to substitute his name as the party’s candidate for the Osun Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general election.
The warning was sequel to the claim by the current lawmaker representing the District in the Senate, Olubiyi Fadeyi, who on Thursday announced his return to the PDP and emergence as the party’s Osun Central Senatorial candidate in the 2027 general elections.
The PUNCH reports that Fadeyi, had in July, 2027 alongside four other National Assembly members in the state, defected to the All Progressives Congress and participated in the party’s primary in May.
The committee in charge of the primary however announced Kunle Adegoke, as the winner of the primary amid protest by Fadeyi and his supporters.
But while speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Friday, Adekunle insisted that he remains the validly nominated PDP candidate for Osun Central Senatorial District in the next general election.
