Samsung Wallet will support stablecoins, Samsung product manager Lee Dinham said at the company's Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, the electronics giant's first direct commitment to the asset class.
"Samsung Wallet will expand beyond cash and savings. It will embrace new forms of digital value, including stablecoins," Dinham said during the presentation. He said the move makes Samsung "one of the first major mobile brands to bring native stablecoins to a smartphone, enabling fast and trusted digital value transfers."
Samsung gave no launch date, named no stablecoin issuers or partners, and specified no markets. An on-stage mockup of the Wallet interface showed Circle's USDC, but neither company has confirmed a partnership. Samsung's newsroom published no release on the plan, and the company did not respond to Cointelegraph's request for comment.
The pledge follows a June episode in which Samsung appeared among 140-plus listed partners of the Open USD stablecoin consortium led by Bridge co-founder Zach Abrams — and then denied any formal agreement, saying there had been no official consultations.
Samsung has circled crypto since 2019, when the Galaxy S10 shipped with a hardware-backed blockchain wallet. In October 2025, it embedded Coinbase One into Samsung Wallet for more than 75 million US Galaxy users.
