EXCLUSIVE: The Chase legend recalled the behind-the-scenes moment after the footballer's comment.16:47, 24 Jul 2026An ITV star has hit out at an “obnoxious” footballing legend.‌The Chase legend Anne Hegerty recalled an interaction with Welsh football manager and pundit Robbie Savage.‌The star had appeared on a 2013 episode of the iconic quizshow, where he was raising money for charity alongside Andrea McLean, Jessica Taylor and Rory McGrath.‌However, The Governess has recalled a behind-the-scenes moment with him that left a lasting impact.Ahead of the new Chase spin-off airing, The Chase Around The World, The Mirror spoke to Anne and her co-star Shaun Wallace, known as The Dark Destroyer.In a conversation about memorable moments from their time on The Chase and their own mistakes they’ve made, Anne revealed one encounter.‌She shared: “I’ve sat in a green room with Shaun and watched him take Robbie Savage to pieces.“He was being obnoxious and asking dumb questions, and then Shaun suddenly turned around to him, started firing football questions at him and he was just sitting there like… he had no idea.‌“It was a thing of beauty!”Her comments came after Shaun admitted that even the Chasers make mistakes. Recalling his own error, Shaun admitted “Every Achilles has a heel”.He went on: “I’ve never watched The Simpsons, remember that time they asked me the colour of Marge Simpson’s hair?‌"I said orange. The abuse I got on Twitter would make you want to quit the show.”Shaun went on to say that like with soaps, he’d just guess an answer, and he was asked another Simpsons question where he had no choice but to do the same thing.‌“They then asked me, who is the eldest Simpsons child, for £50,000?” he said.He went on: “I know there’s three, Maggie, Lisa and Bart, and it took me six seconds to work out which one is it.”Shaun had said it was Lisa, ultimately losing the huge sum.
