EXCLUSIVE: The Chase stars are returning with a new spin-off series, The Chase Around The World.10:24, 16 Jul 2026Updated 10:25, 16 Jul 2026A star from The Chase has revealed a moment one fan almost spoiled a new spin-off series.Anne Hegerty, known to viewers as The Governess, is returning to screens with her co-stars and host Bradley Walsh for The Chase Around The World.Perfect for Race Across The World fans, the six-part special sees six teams of two battling to win £100,000 as they take on ITV ’s beloved quiz show in destinations all over Europe.In cities kicking off with Rome, the teams solve quiz questions leading them to clues across the city before finding Bradley at the finish line.The team that comes in last place must then take on two Chasers for a final quiz round, and need to beat them to fight for their place in the competition.The Chase Around The World was filmed across Europe, in front of some of the continent’s most famous attractions and top tourist sites.But Anne has now revealed the game was almost given away while she was filming, after being recognised by one fan.Anne exclusively revealed: “This was happening in Rome to me and Mark, we had to do pieces to the camera near a big monument to Italian unification, and we were on the street corner.“The number of people who turned out to be visiting, British tourists… there was a scene where contestants have to run past, and Mark [Labbett] and I were hiding behind newspapers in an open-air cafe.“There was a woman in front who kept turning around, and I’m sure she recognised us.“And I thought, oh my god, she’s going to spoil the show, they run past and she’s going to go ‘They’re there!’“Of course, she didn’t, she had enough sense not to do that.”Shaun Wallace added: “Plus they recognise that there are cameras and that we were filming, they were respectful for that, but once we finish doing our scene…”The Dark Destroyer went on to recall one scene in Lisbon, where he and Paul Sinha were recognised by a stag party.He shared: “I will always stop and take photographs with people who recognise us because it’s my way of saying thank you to the public, and they love the show and it’s our way of giving back.Article continues below“As long as they’re not rude or intrusive, we’ll stop. And they happened to be on a stag night, so we took the pictures, but the one thing we said to them was, ‘Don’t post it until July because obviously we don’t want to give our location away’.”The Chase Around The World starts Thursday, July 16, at 9pm on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player, and continues weekly on ITV1 and ITVX
