Virudhunagar district administration has asked all members registered in family cards to register their fingerprints for updating e-KYC by July 31.In a statement, District Collector N.O. Sukhaputra said those who had not complied with the e-KYC verification should register their fingerprints by visiting their ration shops. However, those family members who were away from home owing to job could go to the nearest ration shop in their present place of dwelling and register their fingerprints.Similarly, the family members should approach the Taluk Supply Officer by July 25 for removing the names of their family members who had deceased by producing required documents. The Collector said otherwise, they should submit the copy of Aadhaar cards to salesman in their ration shop.Those who had not updated their biometrics in their Aadhaar card should first update their fingerprints in Aadhaar card before taking up e-KYC update. Such members could visit the Aadhaar e-Seva Centres functioning in the 10 taluk offices in the district for updating their biometrics.The Collector said out of the 18,00,580 members in family cards, only 16,3482 had updated their e-KYC.
