Police probe shooting that left Makati City village councilor wounded

MANILA, Philippines — The Southern Police District (SPD) said it was investigating a shooting incident in which a Makati City barangay councilor was left wounded.

The incident occurred on Thursday morning at the corner of Novaliches and Zapote Streets in Barangay Olympia, according to the SPD in a statement.

In her own statement, Makati City Mayor Nancy Binay identified the victim as John Yland “JY” de Ocampo, councilor of Barangay Santa Cruz.
