Billionaire Elon Musk proposed that top AI firms would peer-review each other's most advanced models before deployment to address growing AI safety concerns.
"The most immediate thing that we could do is to have the leading AI companies … have some sort of call once every few weeks and just discuss any safety and security issues," Musk said in an interview with The Economist published Friday, but recorded before OpenAI disclosed troubling autonomous AI behavior.
Competitors should flag AI model risks, with governments stepping in only if companies fail to address serious concerns, added Musk in the interview published on Thursday.
