South Africa has launched the second phase of the Trusted Employer Scheme (TES)

South Africa has launched the second phase of the Trusted Employer Scheme (TES), aimed at speeding up visa processing for companies that invest in the country and create jobs.

The move comes as the Department of Home Affairs continues its efforts to modernise the immigration system, reduce red tape and make South Africa more attractive to investors.

The second phase builds on the first and expands the scheme to include more sectors, such as strategic infrastructure projects, regional and global headquarters, and qualifying financial sector companies.

"It also forms part of the department's broader digital transformation agenda and features a dedicated online application process that will ultimately be integrated into the world-class Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) platform."
