Police officers have been deployed to the National University of Samoa (NUS) following recent student fights that have drawn the public's attention.
The Samoa Police, Prisons and Correction Services (SPPCS) confirmed that officers are currently stationed at the university to help maintain law and order and preserve peace on campus.
The deployment comes after videos of a student brawl circulated on social media, prompting concern among students, parents and the wider public.
In a statement, the SPPCS said the officers' presence is aimed at ensuring public safety while carrying out their responsibilities under the Police Service Act 2009.
"Police officers are currently deployed at the National University of Samoa (NUS) to help maintain law and order and to preserve the peace on campus," the statement said.
