A total of 51 new police constables have joined the Samoa Police, Prisons, and Corrections Services after completing 17 weeks of training.
The group, made up of 40 men and 11 women, took their oath of office on Tuesday, 19 May at the District Court of Samoa before Judge Leota Raymond Schuster.
Acting Commissioner Papalii Eneliko Taeu presented the recruits with their certificates during the swearing-in ceremony.
The oath marks the official start of their careers as law enforcement officers. The new constables pledged to uphold the Constitution and laws of Samoa, and to serve the public with integrity while protecting communities.
The Samoa Police, Prisons, and Corrections Services said that the ceremony represents more than a formal step, describing it as a commitment to public service, discipline, and responsibility.
