The United Nations Board of Auditors concluded its two-day 80th regular session at UN Headquarters in New York on Wednesday, marking the completion of China's six-year audit mandate at the UN.
Hou Kai, auditor-general of the National Audit Office of China and a member of the United Nations Board of Auditors, attended the session, during which the board reviewed and adopted 22 audit reports for the 2025 fiscal year.
During the session, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres met with board members to exchange views on global challenges and the UN80 Initiative.
Guterres endorsed the board's audit findings and recommendations for the 2025 fiscal year, commended its vital role and spoke highly of China's active engagement and contributions to the UN's external audit work.
According to the National Audit Office, the Chinese audit team faithfully fulfilled the responsibilities entrusted to it by the UN General Assembly over the past six years.
