An explosion at a boat manufacturing workshop near the city of Hania, Crete, left one worker seriously injured Thursday.
The worker was found unconscious at the facility in the Livadia area, on the outskirts of Hania, and was taken to Hania General Hospital, where he was intubated and admitted to the intensive care unit, hospital director Giorgos Beas said.
Firefighters and emergency medical teams were dispatched to the scene, but no fire broke out following the blast.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the explosion at the polyester boat construction workshop.
