Chief Executive Officer of Raichur Zilla Panchayat Eshwar Kumar Kandoo said that as per the directions issued by the Ministry of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Commissionerate of Rural Development and Department of Rural Development and Panchayat, the 125 days employment guarantee in rural areas was provided under VB-G RAM G to prevent migration.The Raichur district is reeling from a severe drought. Therefore, unskilled employment under the new Act is being provided for the livelihood of the rural people. However, there are some migrations happening in the district. Thus, such migrations should be stopped by ensuring employment effectively, Mr. Kandoo said in a release.In view of the implementation of the VB-G RAM G Act with effect from July 01, a drive has been launched in 179 gram panchayats in the district to provide jobs.According to the new Act, employment for 125 is guaranteed and an equal wage of ₹382 for both men and women workers. The Gram Panchayat scheme will be implemented under the VB-G RAM G Act. Strong rules for unemployment allowances and other facilities will be provided for the workers.
