Minister for Public Works and Sports Development Aadhav Arjuna on Thursday inaugurated the renovated Arignar Anna Swimming Pool on Kamarajar Salai at Chepauk here.The swimming pool, which was originally constructed by the Public Works Department and administered by the School Education Department, is now maintained by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT).It was refurbished with new equipments at a cost of ₹2.75 crore by the SDAT with an objective to provide swimmers a safer and better-quality training environment. A 1,500-square-foot air-conditioned gymnasium has also been established at the facility and four coaches have been appointed to provide training to both competitive swimmers and public, said an official release.Youth Welfare and Sports Development Secretary Sandeep Nanduri; and SDAT Member Secretary J.
