Award-winning rapper Cassper Nyovest has been announced as the official host of the 32nd South African Music Awards (SAMA 32), marking the end of a decade-long public fallout between the musician and the awards organisers.
The announcement comes just weeks after the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) confirmed that the country’s biggest music awards ceremony will return to the iconic Sun City Superbowl in North West on 15 August 2026.
Taking to social media, an excited Cassper revealed that after “10 years of not seeing eye to eye”, he and the SAMAs had finally reconciled.
“The cat is out the bag!!!! I am so excited for this!!! After 10 years of not seeing eye to eye, they called me in and we have come to an agreement!!! This is gonna be huge!!!! 15 August!! We are going to Sun City and I am your OFFICIAL HOST!!!”
In a video announcing the news, the rapper said he was looking forward to taking centre stage at this year’s ceremony.
