The woman becoming a lifeline for Wentworth's hungry families.

Every day, children make their way to a modest home in one of Wentworth's poorest neighbourhoods, knowing they will find more than just a warm meal. They will find a place where they are safe, cared for and welcomed with open arms.

For 53-year-old Cheryl Louw, known affectionately throughout the community as "Auntie Cheryl", feeding hungry children and elderly residents has become more than an act of kindness – it has become her life's purpose.

Although she has two daughters of her own, Louw says her heart belongs to the countless children who arrive at her gate hungry, some of them as young as two or three years old.

At present, she runs what she calls a "self-feeding scheme" while working to register it as a non-profit organisation.
