The 2026 KwaZulu-Natal Singles Championships delivered everything lawn bowls supporters could have hoped for — drama, heartbreak, remarkable comebacks and two worthy champions crowned after a weekend of unforgettable competition.
From sectional play, where winners often came down to the narrowest of shot differences, to knockout matches decided by nail-biting 21-20 scores, every round produced edge-of-the-seat excitement before the tournament reached its climax at Westville Bowling Club on Monday.
The women's semi-finals set the tone for a spectacular finals day. PNB’s Debbie Joseph (Westville Country Club) relied on her trademark drawing accuracy to overcome Natal Inland Bowls' Karen Vahey (Collegians), while the second semi-final produced one of the tournament's most memorable encounters.
Making her provincial singles debut, KBA’s Marion Knott (The Bell) stood opposite one of KZN's finest bowler and NIBA President, Tara van Rensburg (Lynwood). What followed had spectators captivated from start to finish.
