Nwite was arraigned before the court presided over by Chief Magistrate U.M. Ozoeze-Ozobu on a six-count charge filed by the Commissioner of Police in Charge No. MEN/305/2026.
The Enugu State Police Command has arraigned a 23-year-old man, Victor Oreba Nwite, before an Enugu Magistrate Court over the alleged abduction, unlawful detention and torture of three victims who were reportedly held captive for more than three months in an apartment at Heliu Estate, Independence Layout, Enugu.
Nwite was arraigned before the court presided over by Chief Magistrate U.M. Ozoeze-Ozobu on a six-count charge filed by the Commissioner of Police in Charge No. MEN/305/2026.
According to the charge sheet obtained by SaharaReporters on Wednesday, the defendant allegedly confined Izuchukwu Nnome, Joseph Alaka and Miracle Tochukwu against their will between March and June 2026, contrary to Section 316 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 30, Vol. II, Revised Laws of Enugu State, 2004.
The first count reads: "That you Victor Oreba Nwite... did unlawfully confine/detain one Izuchukwu Nnome against his will and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 316 of the Criminal Code."
