The state has proved its case beyond reasonable doubt was the assertion made by Magistrate Muntukayise Khumalo in convicting former soldier Lwanda Mxolisi Zungu of murdering his wife, whom he shot eight times in their Pinetown home.
The couple's two young sons and mother-in-law were inside the house when the shooting occurred on January 3, 2024.
Khumalo handed his ruling at the Pinetown Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
“We find, having regard to the evidence in its totality, that the State has succeeded in proving its case against the accused beyond a reasonable doubt,” Khumalo said.
