The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 are the first devices with Gemini Intelligence, as well as Gemini Nano 4.

In a developer blog post, Google says “Samsung’s new foldable devices come with Gemini Nano 4.” It supports over 140 languages and offers better multimodal understanding. Google’s latest on-device model is based on Gemma 4.

The Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy with 12 or 16 GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the Flip 8 uses the Exynos 2600 with 12 GB of RAM.

Since Gemini Intelligence was announced in May, android.com replaced the “Gemini Nano v3 or higher” requirement with just “Nano models on device AI.” The “Qualified SOC” line also dropped “flagship” from the requirement.
