Google used Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked stage on July 22 to roll out the next generation of its Gemini AI platform, branding the suite of features “Gemini Intelligence.” The headline number: Gemini can now automate tasks across more than 40 popular applications, chaining together actions like ordering dinner, managing a family group chat, and booking a service appointment.
What Gemini Intelligence actually does
Google also introduced the Gemini Notebook, a tool designed for document analysis. Users can feed documents into Gemini and get structured analysis, summaries, and insights pulled from them.
Another addition is improved natural-language widget creation. Instead of digging through settings menus and widget galleries, users can describe what they want on their home screen and Gemini builds it.
Gemini Live, the platform’s real-time voice interaction mode, also got an upgrade. Users can now share multimedia inputs during voice conversations, including images, files, and YouTube videos.
