Independent Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) head Advocate Andrea Johnson requested an early adjournment at the Madlanga Commission on Wednesday after telling the inquiry she was unwell following medication.
Immediately after the lunch break, evidence leader Advocate Mahlape Sello SC informed the commission that Johnson was no longer fit to continue with her testimony because of the medication's effects.
Commission chairperson Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga granted the request, adjourning the hearing at 3pm and instructing Johnson to return on Thursday at 9:30am.
The early adjournment came after a demanding session in which commissioners closely questioned Johnson about her leadership of IDAC and its handling of sensitive investigations.
