The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed in a statement on Tuesday evening, July 21, that it had targeted and disabled two radar systems on Kuwaiti territory. Meanwhile, Iraqi security sources reported that three explosive-laden drones had been shot down near the U.S. Consulate in Erbil.
In its statement, the IRGC announced that its forces, continuing the 24th wave of Operation “Nasr 2” with the aim of “clearing the region of radars,” had targeted an early-warning radar, a tactical radar complex near Ali Al Salem Air Base, and another radar system on Kuwait’s Bubiyan Island, putting them out of service.
The claim has not yet been independently confirmed by Kuwaiti or U.S. officials.
In a related development, Reuters reported, citing security sources, that three explosive-laden drones had been shot down near the U.S. Consulate in Erbil, Iraq.
