Iain Wares.
Convicted pedophile, Iain Wares, will return to court next month after a detailed sick note submitted at the Wynberg Regional Court confirmed he is booked off sick until July 28.
National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Eric Ntabazalila, confirmed that Wares is expected to appear in court on August 24, where sentencing arguments will be heard and defence reports will be submitted.
Last week, the court heard that Wares attended a hospital consultation, where he was diagnosed with shingles, and the consulting doctor issued a sick note confirming that his patient was in severe pain.
Wares’ legal counsel, William Fullard, previously informed the court that Wares’ medication causes him to feel drowsy and unsteady, and effectively meant that his client would not be able to follow court proceedings while receiving treatment.
