Dumfries and Galloway Council to use drones to carry out survey to help with management of drone population, as reported issues rise
Dumfries and Galloway Council is to deploy drones to carry out a survey on how to “better manage and understand” the urban gull population in south-west Scotland.
The plan comes amid rising public reports of issues with the birds during the breeding season – in spite of their decreasing population.
The drones are to examine rooftops and nesting areas, and the findings are to help decide on any future management or conservation work, the council said.
