The Rule of Law and Accountability Advocacy Centre (RULAAC) has urged the Abia State government to immediately release the outcome of its investigation into the alleged arbitrary arrest, detention, prosecution and demolition of the home of the Chikadibia family.
It warned that the prolonged silence over the probe could undermine public confidence in the administration's commitment to justice.
The rights group, in a statement by its Executive Director, Mr Okechukwu Nwanguma, expressed concern that months after Governor Alex Otti ordered an investigation into the alleged human rights violations, neither the victims nor the public had been informed of the findings or any steps taken to redress the alleged abuses.
RULAAC said it petitioned the governor on March 6, 2026, seeking restorative justice, accountability and compensation for Mr Sunday Chikadibia and his daughters, Glory, Ngozi and Ogechi, over their alleged ordeal during a police operation in Alaukwu, Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area, on April 12, 2025.
