Google launched Gemini 3.6 Flash and Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite on 21 July 2026 with lower list prices, shorter task times and general availability across its developer services. The defining gain is efficiency. Independent testing by Artificial Analysis gives Gemini 3.6 Flash the same overall Intelligence Index score as Gemini 3.5 Flash, while Google reports stronger results on selected coding, computer-use and knowledge-work tests. Gemini 3.6 Flash costs $1.50 per million input tokens and $7.50 per million output tokens. Google also says the model consumes 17 per cent fewer output tokens on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index. If that reduction carries into a customer's production workload, the output-token portion of the bill could fall by about 31 per cent. If the July model completed an equivalent task with 830,000 output tokens, that portion of the invoice would cost $6.23.
